Frozen water exerts thousands of pounds of pressure per square inch on a pipe and can burst it, causing flooding and major damage to your business. Extensive water damage can also occur as a result of frozen pipes in sprinkler systems during extended power outages in freezing weather.
Prevention
Install insulation and heat trace tape connected to a reliable power source on parts of wet sprinkler system piping. This includes main lines coming up from underground passing through a wall as well as sprinkler branch lines. With a heating output of 500 Watts, the small frost protection heaters are ideal for providing standard background heating in smaller rooms. In particular, water pipes are reliably protected against frost damage, subject to correct sizing. An integral overheating protection reliably prevents excessive temperatures and therefore ensures your safety. You select the required temperature at the temperature selector.

The operating principle
KEMPER FROSTI® is completely opened with only 2 revolutions. The drain housing is flooded. The hydrodynamic design of the valve achieves an above-average drainage capacity of over 40 l per minute (at 1 bar flow pressure). That means there is sufficient water supply even with long water hoses. The fully-automatic drainage after the stop process prevents the valve from freezing.
Water damages are prevented. Stagnation does not arise in a drained valve, so there is no germ growth.

The Medem AGDS range is a family of gas detection systems designed for use in boiler houses and plant rooms with ability for 2, 4 or multi-channels; utilising low voltage sensors for the detection of natural gas, LPG or carbon monoxide.
In the event of a high alarm from one of the sensors, the system will isolateclose any connected valve. Low alarm indication is also given.
Panel controls included “Mute”, “Reset” and Emergency Stop buttons.
Remote emergency stop buttons can be fitted and a fire alarm connected to close the gas valve when activated.
High alarm change over relays can be used to control remote indications or connect to a BMS system.
An AUX relay is also fitted (SELV only) which can change states depending on a switch setting. Change over states are:
- Low Alarm
- High Alarm
- Emergency Stop
- Gas On

An independent panel of recognised, renowned experts and a poll of 1.500 consumers then assesses all entries in terms of user comfort, practical benefit, innovation content, design and sustainability to ensure a thorough, all-round assessment.

Grohe Tempesta Shower - Citywest Competition Winner

Modern Plant Ltd were delighted to present a Grohe Tempesta electric shower to Graham Nolan from Crescent Industrial Supplies Ltd, who was picked out as the winner in the recent competition which was ran during last month's Plumbing & Heating Trade Event at the Citywest exhibition centre in Dublin.
Graham is pictured alongside sales manager Chris Reilly as he collected his prize last week. Modern Plant Ltd have recently been appointed distributor's for the full range of Grohe commercial wash solutions which were introduced at the recent Citywest event.

The Powerbox's simple design means it's ideal for washrooms in high traffic areas such as airports, hospitals and hotels to offices and public institutions. The new product's self-sustaining power model and low maintenance design also makes it perfect for projects where mains electricity is absent or unreliable; it also helps attain difficult to achieve green standards such as LEED, BREEAM and Estidama.

Grohe's technology uses the faucet's own water flow to drive a turbine, concealed in a small box installed below the basin. This converts the energy from the flowing water into storable electric energy which then powers the faucet's infrared function. Just 60 seconds of the water running delivers and stores enough energy to power the mixer for 24 hours. The electronic faucet only delivers the water required, thereby minimising waste. With seven possible settings, it can also be further tailored to meet the needs of the project and its users without wasting a drop.
Savings
The Powerbox is the most efficient power harvester in the business, with a storage capacity that allows 100 hours of use from just 260 seconds of water flowing. No energy from the mains is required to power the unit, which means no electricity bills to pay. No mains electricity will, of course, cut bills, but the design of the product will also save on running costs. The Powerbox operates maintenance-free for 10 years and is simple and fast to install. According to Modern Plant, all these benefits are also matched by design excellence. The Powerbox can be used with three different faucet styles – these include Grohe's Europlus E, Europlus Cosmopolitan E and the Cold water fitting Euroeco Cosmopolitan E.
