Air Preparation

With a product range that includes after-coolers, dryers, filters, regulators, lubricators and pressure boosters, SMC can provide all of your air purification and preparation needs. With filtration levels ranging from 5 microns down to 0.3 and 0.01 microns we can provide high levels of purification. This can be further improved on with our range of super mist separators and clean air and gas filters.

We can offer pressure regulation encompassing high pressure to high precision with further options available from compact manifold regulators to miniature regulators.
The assembly of modular combinations of filters, regulators, lubricators, soft start and shut-off valves are also supplied to meet the customers requirements.

Filters

Filters remove solid impurities such as rust, dirt particles and water droplets from compressed air. SMC manufacture a range of filters, from M5 to 2” port size, making our range suitable for applications in the smallest test instruments to the largest industrial plant.

Regulators

Regulators can help to improve efficiency by reducing component wear and by lowering energy costs. In addition to our standard range of regulators we also offer compact regulators with our ARJ series, high pressure solutions with the ARX (20 bar) and VCHR (50 bar) series.

Precision Regulator

SMC have a range of precision regulators for use in applications which require pressure control to closer tolerances than is available from conventional regulators. For applications such as tension control, force control on pressing machines, leak testing, or balance systems, the precise control offered by precision regulators guarantees better process control with higher quality being met. They come in a range of port sizes and flow levels and are fully compatible with our modular FRL assemblies.

Pre-assembled filter, regulator, and lubricator combinations are available from SMC. The most popular combinations are given one part number for easy ordering, assembled at our premises and are then tested to ensure compliance with our stringent quality control procedures prior to dispatch.

Dryers

SMC’s Refrigerated Dryers can offer cooling ratings of 3-75kW. Compared to previous models the new IDFA offers a reduction in volume by 30% and in weight by 40%. It also provides an Increased level of air flow capacity by 40% when compared to previous models and with the use of a Stainless Steel Heat-Exchanger it can offer Energy Saving benefits.

Soft-start Valves

Pressure Boosters

SMC’s pressure boosters are twin-piston pressure intensifiers that are designed to raise the pressure of compressed air by non-electrical means. They are ideal for use in applications where a small number of end-of-line components may lack power due to lower than optimum mains air pressure.

Pressure Gauges

SMC manufactures a range of pressure gauges, including general purpose, oil free, copper-free, digital, clean gauges and a pressure gauge with built-in switch. To assist with plant maintenance, our differential pressure gauge identifies when compressed air filters are clogged and when the filter elements require replacement.

Miscellaneous Equipment

Compressed air can sometimes reach a high temperature and when it cools, large volumes of water can be deposited in the airline system. These deposits can be problematic but they can be easily reduced by installing an aftercooler immediately after the compressor. SMC manufactures both water cooled and air cooled units.
